Our Past Dogs
We honour our past dogs here.
Their contributions to Canrosea shelties can not be understated. Some of these dogs have passed and wait for me at the rainbow bridge. Some are with me as cherished companion pets, living the life of Riley.
There are places I'll remember all my life,
though some have changed
Some forever, not for better. Some have gone, and some remain
All these places had their moments with lovers and friends,
I still can recall, some are dead, and some are living.
In my live, I've loved them all
But of all the friends and lovers there is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning when I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection for people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life, I'll love you more

PiperLee was my first conformation show dog. She was the first sheltie that I had puppies from, and she was the first sheltie that I trained for agility. Many firsts with my girlie. Due to circumstances her time with me was shorter than I would have hoped but I did have her daughters for a long time....Paris and MadieMae. So many firsts with this beautiful girl, and so many lessons learned together. She gave me the desire to continue on in shelties for many years to come.

PARIS is a daughter of PIPERLEE. She did not compete in conformation shows, but shse was my first agility champion. She obtained her AAC Atch championship and CKC excellent level championship. This little dog taught me so much about dog behaviour and the sport of agility. She and I travelled many miles together. She truly was a once in a lifetime companion dog. She was always ready to try something new with me with a smile and a little barking along the way.

MADIEMAE (Madison) is probably my most accomplish dog to date. In her day, she was a Canadian Conformation champion. She became an AAC Atch Agility Champion and CKC excellent level agility champion. She also had two litters of puppies. Unfortunately I was not able to keep any of her puppies at that time, and her family line did not continue. She did have the distinction of obtaining her Atch award at an AAC regional event....a somewhat rare occurrence for a big weekend event.....that year the regional trials held special significance for our agilty career. Hence a special spot on our websites first page, for both MadieMae and Miss Paris.

Blondie is the girl from whom all my present shelties trace their heritage. Blondie did not compete in confirmation and was not comfortable in the agility ring, but she was a constant companion. Her biggest asset to Canrosea, was a family history of correct structure, and health. She lived a long happy life riding shotgun beside me on the way to events that other girls competed at.....she navigated and kept us on the right track. She proved to be a good mother and gave us our present matriarch Rush.

Nova came to us by way of Rufflieth Shelties. She was to have been a new branch of our kennel bloodline. Her conformation title was achieved as well as having several litters, but the family line has discontinued here at Canrosea. She has grandsons at another kennel, to carry on her legacy. Nova did compete in agility sports as well as conformation but neither were really something she overly enjoyed, preferring to be the guardian of the family and watch from the sidelines. She travelled with me and supported her kennel mates during their competitions.

Sire: Am. Gch. Can. Ch. Laureate Invincible (Vinnie) x Dam: Can. Ch. Canrosea I'm Gonna Run To You (Rush). Eve is sister to Sable. Eve was placed with Granite Shelties who presented/showed her to her Canadian championship. Eve has had several litters in which I have had the good fortune to share. Eve is mother to my Izzy and Henley, son Can. Ch. Granite Dilema At OnAWhim (Flint) and daughter Am. Ch. Granite Spirit With Bridgeway (Spirit) . I see Eve's features in her daughter Izzy and the grandchildren. Eve has gone on to compete in Obedience, Agility and Rally sports and is a well known therapy dog at local nursing homes and schools in her area. A very accomplished sheltie guided by her owner/trainer Sue. I often thought how fortunate Eve was to have been placed in a home that was able to train and accomplish so much with her brains, her ability and her beauty. She is a true once in a lifetime dog for her owner Sue!

Sire: Am. Gch. Can. Ch. Laureate Invincible (Vinnie) x Dam: Can. Ch. Canrosea I'm Gonna Run To You (Rush). Sable is sister to Eve. Not quite as well accomplished as her sister. Sable did have a litter of puppies but unfortunately her contribution to Canrosea is not as big as that of her sister Eve. Sable is the bossier one of the sisters, and still commands respect from her kennel mates here at home. Her son Frey was very much like her. Frey did not compete in conformation but did sire one litter. They carry on his and Sable's legacy. Frey passed away due to unfortunate events, just as he was learning the game of agility. He is always remembered fondly.

Sire: Am. Grd Ch. Can. Ch. Laureate Macadamia (MAC) x Can. Ch. Can. Ch. CanroseaGranite Temptation (Eve) Izzy is the girl that now dominates my kennel's family line. She is mother to Stevie, Scarlett, Maple, and Dreamer (Brazil). Her grandchildren now begin to compete in dog sports. She has an amazing temperament but won't put up with nonsense and makes her wishes known and respected. She takes her place in the line of succession, and waits for her accession to the throne.

Sire: Am. Gch. Can. Ch. Laureate Opus One x Dam: Can. Ch. Canrosea Granite Temptation. Henley is a boy who came to me by way of Granite Shelties. He has the most even and happy temperament I have ever seen in a sheltie...happy to do almost anything but on his terms. He is sire to our boy Finnley. He entertains all who watch him in the agility ring, but again the price for entertainment is that it is on Henley's terms and not necessarily on the terms of his handler. He is may not do agility quite the way we would like, but he enjoys himself and entertains all his peeps. He carves out his spot at the feet of his people and enjoys the good life. We would have liked to have had more of his offspring, but it was not to be, and we now enjoy his son, Finnley and look into his future and legacy.
